"Attention to detail sets our gates apart from others"

1. A starting point

Only the highest grade FSC certified timber is used. Gate timbers are usually 70mm thick by 145mm wide, an optimum for strength and durability.

2. Quality materials

Our gates are made using a frame with full bottom rail. This provides real strength, enhances appearance and prevents boards from absorbing moisture thereby increasing longevity. Joints are secured using traditional mortice and tenon methods.

3. Beginning to take shape

All boards inserted into the gate frame are individually handmade. This creates a fit which allows for movement and for rain to run off. Boards are firmly screwed to the frame and then hidden with pellets to preserve the beauty of the wood.

4. Finishing touches

As wood is a natural material it will move over time. All hinges fitted to our gates are adjustable to allow for this movement.

5. Completed gate

Once the gate is made it will be sanded for a smooth finish. Shapes are routed in to prevent water from lying on flat surfaces. If chosen, a preservative stain or paint can be applied.
